The Pacific Handcrafter's Guild Foundation is the Non-profit Educational arm of the Guild. Membership in the Pacific Handcrafter's Guild includes membership in the PHG Foundation. The PHG Foundation was established in the Fall of 1991 to promote, support and preserve arts and fine crafts in the Hawaiian Islands.
As a non-profit organization, the Foundation has awarded over $64,000 in scholarships over the years to college level students who plan to pursue studies and a career in the arts. The Hawaii Community Foundation is the administrator of the scholarship funds. Any college level student who plans to pursue studies and a career in the arts may apply through that organization.

Our festivals have been the premier craft events in Honolulu for over 32 years. At present, the Pacific Handcrafter's Guild outdoor festivals are held at Thomas Square, the site of the first major craft event in 1974.
In 2004 Pacific Handcrafter's Guild celebrated its 30th year of offering fine arts and crafts to the people of Hawaii and the visitors to her island shores. The many craftspeople, who over the years have participated in the PHG Festivals, and indeed, all craft fairs in the parks, are truly indebted to the founders of this guild, as well as the City and County of Honolulu and the Department of Parks and Recreation whose generous contribution of time and effort has allowed craftspeople to exhibit, educate and share their efforts with the community. |
In addition, the PHG Foundation and its members are partners in the Arts At Marks Garage project, part of the Honolulu cultural district restoration program. In 2004, the Foundation held classes and demonstrations by its members in diverse areas of art. These projects are always a great success for the community and all involved.
