Make Your Own Puka Shell Jewelry

Puka shell jewelry never goes out of style. You can make earrings, bracelets, broaches, necklaces and more with these versatile and multi-colored shells. For necklaces, coated beading wire is the best to use, as the drilled edges of the shells will eventually cut through natural and plastic string. My Trip to the Hawaiian Art Expo

And now for something completely different…

(It’s my site, I’m allowed!)

I wake up and grab my suitcase. I’m going to be gone for a while, which is why I got a security system from wirelessalarmsystems.com. It really doesn’t matter. If I’m going to go public about it, I want to make sure the criminals who might be reading this know what I got. As for the rest of my fans, no you guys are great, I love you guys.

I’m going to Hawaii but I don’t exactly know WHERE I’m going in Hawaii. My destination is the Hawaiian Art Expo but you won’t find it in any brochure. They don’t even have a site. Why?

It’s a very hip and very exclusive, underground art gallery. Anything and everything that can be construed as a form of self-expression lives in this gallery.

After a fairly uneventful trip, I am met at the airport by Clouse, a close friend and fellow art lover – friend of the site. What happens next can only be described as the most pretentious, frightening and esoteric display of devotion I have ever experienced. I am blindfolded and taken to the gallery.

The gallery was a mix of both modern culture with heavy ties back to the old days – the very old days. It was a visceral and organic look at a Hawaii that, on the surface, appears to be long-gone but still, in some small way, lives in the minds and heartbeats of Hawaiians everywhere.

Can’t wait to go again…if I can find my invite.
